.568 Caliber Pritchett Cartridges

The original Pattern 1853 Enfield rifle-musket cartridge uses a .568-inch bullet designed by R. T. Pritchett, and saw significant service at the end of the Crimean War (1854-1856). This bullet and cartridge was later produced in vast quantities by Confederate arsenals during the American Civil War.
