The AR-2A, from Steiner is one of the most popular AR15 laser systems on the market. This lightweight unit is designed to mount to a standard AR15 Front Sight Base, over the barrel. Because of this, a Picatinny Quad Rail is not required to deploy this laser. This is an advantage for civilian AR owners with “vanilla” carbines and rifles or Law Enforcement Departments whose issue rifles lack rails. The sturdy, included AR2 mount features dual Picatinny rails that straddle the Front Sight Base, offering real estate for mounting other accessories at the 3 or 9 o’clock position.

These single-function laser units are light weight and very handy. The remote pressure switch is hard-mounted to the laser body housing, offering a very robust unit. The laser is a high power visible dot for maximum daylight visibility and meets MIL-STD-810F for reliability under harsh environmental conditions..

**A note about visible lasers** Visible lasers have been criticized by some in the shooting community as a crutch for poor shooters. At TNVC, we do not subscribe to this theory. Visible lasers are also ideal for controlling suspects who, otherwise, might be inclined to not follow orders or escalate a situation. Because of Hollywood, everyone in the world understands visible lasers and what they mean. If a bad guy sees a red dot on his center mass, he knows what comes next. This psychological response may help convince him to cease whatever felonious activity in which he was engaging. We are not saying this is a complete solution, but we have witnessed this effect on many occasions.
